Parisian interior designer Sebastien Segers—known for his work with product designer Marc Newson and fashion houses such as Armani and Dior—takes on his first residential building in New York City with Greenwich West at 110 Charlton Street. “I wanted to experiment on a large scale with the design guidelines I have developed on more exclusive high-end projects, and New York is the place I dreamed about,” he says. “When doing a residential tower, you have to anticipate the community who will live there, the story they can share, and find the balance between the strong identity [of the building] and the ability of the space to be appropriated by its residents. The driver is: Do I want it for myself?”
